Deep Learning

A subfield of machine learning that uses neural networks with many layers to learn representations of data at increasing levels of abstraction. The "deep" refers to the depth of these layers, not the complexity of the task. Deep learning has driven most of the major breakthroughs in AI since 2012, from image recognition and speech to language understanding and protein structure prediction.
