Demographic Parity

A fairness criterion requiring that an AI system's positive outcomes be distributed equally across demographic groups, for example that a loan approval model approves applications at the same rate regardless of race or gender. Demographic parity is one of several competing definitions of algorithmic bias, and satisfying it for one group may come at the cost of other fairness criteria.
