Floating Point Operations Per Second

A measure of computational performance indicating how many floating point calculations a processor can perform per second. In AI, FLOPS are used to compare hardware capabilities and estimate how long a given workload will take to run. Not to be confused with FLOPs (lowercase s), which counts the total number of operations a task requires rather than a processing rate.
