AI GLOSSARY

Black-Box Model

AI & Machine Learning

An AI model whose internal workings are opaque, it produces outputs but it is difficult or impossible to understand exactly why or how it arrived at a given result. Deep neural networks are often described as black boxes, which raises significant concerns in high-stakes applications where decisions need to be explained and justified.
