Algorithmic Accountability

Legal, Policy & Compliance

The principle that organizations using AI systems to make decisions that affect people should be able to explain, justify, and take responsibility for those decisions. Algorithmic accountability requires documentation, auditability, and, in some jurisdictions, legal obligations to provide explanations when automated decisions have significant impacts.
