AI GLOSSARY
Equalized Odds
Safety, Alignment & Ethics
A fairness criterion requiring that an AI system achieves equal true positive rates and equal false positive rates across demographic groups, not just equal overall accuracy. Equalized odds is a more demanding standard than demographic parity and reflects the intuition that a fair system should make equally good decisions for everyone, not merely arrive at similar aggregate outcomes.
